Gorillas in the Rainforest

Lena and her six month old son Kituba enjoying their amazing new habitat. The Gorilla Rainforest, proudly sponsored by Freddy Fyffes is the biggest and most exciting development undertaken by Dublin Zoo in a number of years. The total 12,000 square metres of undulating topography, rolling hills, streams and dense vegetation was inspired by the gorilla’s natural habitat, the lowland rainforest of western Africa.

The Gorilla Rainforest is open to visitors from today (Thursday 29th September) and to celebrate the opening this weekend (1st and 2nd October) Freddy Fyffes will be hosting two days of family fun with face painting, giant games, music workshops and much more in the Gorilla Rainforest at Dublin Zoo.
